In this period of forced quarantine due to the bad period that our country is going through, we HappyWiners took the opportunity to make a "virtual" trip to Sicily with wine. We gladly accepted the invitation of Claudia Sciacca and Andrea Annino to know their young reality and to taste their wines.

Tenuta Valle delle Ferle is located a few kilometers from Caltagirone, within the area of Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin "Cerasuolo di Vittoria (DOCG)", in the heart of the oldest wine route ever identified
The project of Claudia and Andrea, both engineers, was born in 2016 when they take over the property of Imakara, historical company of the area, and the 10 hectares of the oldest vineyards of Caltagirone
The ideas are clear from the outset: work in an organic regime and produce wine according to tradition. The vineyards are from 1974, and are planted mixed as it was once used, that is, alternating, in an absolutely random way in the same row, vines of Nero d'Avola and Frappato.

“The wine is made in the vineyard and we do nothing but allow this territory to express itself at its best, taking care of the environment, intervening as little as possible, manually picking the grapes and respecting the potential of the vines, many of which are particularly old”
Claudia Sciacca - Tenuta Valle delle Ferle

They are young, just over thirty, but they are already taking away some good satisfaction. Their debut at the Merano Wine Festival with the first vintage was an immediate success. Tenuta Valle delle Ferle received the Rosso WineHunter Award for Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG and Frappato DOC Vittoria.
